Review of 'For Your Troubles' from Daybreak by Buzzard Lope - The Hit Sheet Aug 2010

Buzzard Lope were formerly known as Show Without Punch but we'll forgive them for their terrible band name choices as they make the loveliest, sublime music you'll hear anywhere. The band are Roger Illingworth on piano & vocals and he is joined by Adam Jarvis on double bass and Raphael Said on drums.

For Your Troubles is on heavy rotation at the Hit Sheet Towers, we just can't get enough of the track. Every so often a song comes along that gives you goose-bumps and the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. For us this is that song!

There is a real Paul Buchanan/The Blue Nile feel to this sublime tine which also has a space within the groove and that's something that only comes with experience and maturity.

For Your Troubles is taken from the mini album, Daybreak, which is available via the band's website. Catch them live on August 22 at Cafe 1000 [sic] in Brick Lane.
